A 20-mile finger of vineyards, orchards, and water views with eleven wineries strung along it — the heart of Traverse City wine country. Start at Chateau Chantal (the grande dame, hilltop tasting room with water views both directions), climb to 2 Lads for modern architecture and standout sparkling and reds, and stop at Mari Vineyards for Italian-style wines and a dog-friendly patio. Hire a shuttle (see The Magic Shuttle Bus in Activities) so no one has to be the designated driver.
